"To the weak became I as weak,
that I might gain the weak: I am
made all things to all men, that
I might by all means save some."

History of C.A.R.E. Ministries

C.A.R.E. Ministries is not a new ministry but an unusual one. Women have been overwhelmed and devastated by life's problems for generations and we are a new approach to an old problem.

Mary E. Williams had a vision of C.A.R.E. (Character, Attitude, Relationships, Empowerment) Ministries in 1996, C.A.R.E. Ministries was organized in 1997, held our first seminar in 1998 and since that time we have helped and supported women in various ways. It is a faith-based outreach, which grew out of the concerns women had for other women- concerns of the many young women at risk in our communities who, although young, are affected by various social problems. Some of these young ladies have mortgaged their futures through unhealthy relationships and destructive behaviors. Although, their particular circumstance differ some are physically abused, some are addicted, some have too many children too soon, nearly all are impoverished.

C.A.R.E. is also, a networking, referral, support agency designed to help women obtain services, information and assistance. We not only aid and help our clients, we will accompany them where they need to go and will stay with them until our services are no longer needed. We (C.A.R.E.) provide a structure of mentoring, support, biblical instructions, and encouragement. We give them hope, motivate and inspire women to grow in the various areas of their lives, which have been affected by deterrents of today.

After becoming a single mom, a divorcee and faced with the many problems of raising children, working and maintaining a home, Mary E. Williams began a life similar to the women she meets today. Through much encouragement, love and assistance from her family and others, she accomplished those things before her and, with compassion and love, wants to mentor and help other women in the same position today.

C.A.R.E. Ministries reflects the vision Mrs. Williams had in her heart for women and their families. Our goal is to professionally facilitate and develop self sufficiency for women reaching a larger audience through technical assistance, networking and referrals.
